Authorization to submit an application to the Texas Historical Commission for the relocation of the Patrick Cabin Historical Marker.

Summary:
The Texas Historical Commission ground marker identifying the “Site of the Home in 1836 of Dr. George Moffit Patrick” sits on the current property of Dow Chemical. A photo of the marker is attached. Dow Chemical has offered this ground marker to the City of Deer Park. For security reasons, Dow Chemical cannot allow people on site to view the marker. The proposal is to relocate the marker to in front of the model of the Patrick Cabin in Heritage Park.
The process will require going through the Texas Historical Commission. A photograph of the marker, a map showing the current location of the marker, as well as a map of the proposed new location (an oak tree on the left side of the cabin), and approval from the chairman of the Harris County Historical Commission will be required. A Request to Relocate an Official Texas Historical Marker form will need to be completed and submitted along with the required items.
