Consideration of and action on approving an amendment to the FY 2016-2017 Crime Control and Prevention District budget in order to pay for the Firing Range and Training Facility.

Summary:
On April 4, 2016, the CCPD Board approved a budget amendment to the FY 2015-2016 Crime Control and Prevention District budget in the amount of $1,081,000 for a total budget of $2,731,100 for the construction of the firing range and training facility. The City Council subsequently approved the budget amendment on April 5, 2016. The total budget amount of $2,731,100 included $1,881,500 to IKLO for the construction, $725,600 to Action Target for the bullet trap and baffles, $100,000 for contingency, and $24,000 to complete the architectural design. Total expenditures on this construction project through September 30, 2016 were $408,912, leaving a balance of $2,322,188 to complete the project. The construction of the firing range and training facility is expected to be completed in Fiscal Year 2016-2017, and it is necessary to amend the FY 2016-2017 Crime Control and Prevention District budget to include the amount of $2,322,188 needed to complete the project during the current fiscal year.
