Consideration of and action on an agreement with National Sign Plazas (NSP) for implementation of Phase 2 of the comprehensive way-finding signage system plan from National Sign Plazas (NSP).

Summary: The City of Deer Park has identified the need for a comprehensive plan for a way-finding program targeted at increasing citizens’ and tourists’ access to the many amenities within Deer Park. On July 7, 2015, Council authorized an agreement with NSP for the design, planning, fabrication and installation of a comprehensive way-finding signage system. On May 3, 2016 City Council adopted the City of Deer Park, Texas Wayfinding Master Plan and authorized an agreement with NSP for the implementation of Phase 1. At this time we are requesting the Council to authorize an agreement with NSP for the implementation of Phase 2 of the Master Plan.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Included in the FY 2016-2017 Budget are funds for the implementation of Phase 2 of the comprehensive way-finding signage system plan. It is also anticipated that additional funds will be requested in future years to complete the comprehensive way-finding signage system plan. Council will have the discretion to allocate funding through the annual budgeting process.
Recommended action
Authorize agreement with National Sign Plazas (NSP) for implementation of Phase 2 of the comprehensive way-finding signage system plan from National Sign Plazas (NSP).
