Title

Discussion of issues relating to the authorization to seek bids for the Phase I Development of the Deer Park Nature Preserve.

Body

Summary:

On July 21, 2015 the City Council authorized an agreement with RVi for design services related to the Deer Park Nature Preserve formally referred as the “Wetlands Project”. The conceptual design for Phase 1 of the Deer Park Nature Preserve was presented and discussed with the Parks and Recreation Commission on June 6, 2016, where they made a recommendation to City Council for the acceptance of the conceptual design.  On June 7th, Council formally accepted the Phase I Concept.  Since that time RVi and the Ad-hoc Committee have been working to get the construction documents prepared and approved by the City and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD).  The final approval came from TPWD on January 03, 2017 for the construction plans for Phase I.  At this time, the Parks and Recreation Department would like to receive authorization to seek bids for contractors to develop Phase I of the Deer Park Nature Preserve.
