Title
Consideration of and action on an ordinance amending the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Budget for the Parks and Recreation Department.

Body
Summary: The Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Budget for the Parks and Recreation Department included funding for grounds maintenance in the Beautification Division, which included monies for trees, landscape materials, and signs. During the fiscal year, the amount of monies expended for the wayfinding sign program exceeded the budget projections. A budget amendment in the amount of $1,500.00 is necessary to cover the increased cost of wayfinding signs during Fiscal Year 2015-2016, to be funded from the unassigned fund balance of the General Fund, which is available for this purpose.
The Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Budget for the Parks and Recreation Department included funding for operating costs, including contract labor, in the Athletic & Aquatics Division to fund various athletic and swimming programs (materials, equipment, instructors, coaches, etc.). During the fiscal year, the amount of monies expended to operate the City's athletic and swimming programs exceeded the budget projections due to the increased participation rate in these programs, including the athletic league play. A budget amendment in the amount of $32,200.00 is necessary to cover the net increase in operating costs of the Athletic & Aquatics Division during Fiscal Year 2015-2016, to be funded from the unassigned fund balance of the General Fund, which is available for this purpose. Note: there is an offsetting increase in revenue for the fees associated with the increased participation in the City's athletic and aquatic programs during Fiscal Year 2015-2016.
