Consideration of and action on an ordinance amending the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Budget for the Municipal Court Fund.

Summary: The Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Budget for the Municipal Court Fund includes various operating expenditures that may be funded by specific fines and fees, such as court technology fees, security fees, judicial fees, etc. During the fiscal year, the expenditures in this special revenue fund exceeded the budget projections primarily due to the migration of the Incode software system to Version 10 and the addition of a new doorway for improved access and security in the Court offices. Additionally, because of the available revenues in the Municipal Court Fund, the copier lease and maintenance costs were reclassified from the General Fund. Finally, ten year old office chairs that were breaking down and becoming a safety hazard were replaced.
A budget amendment in the amount of $16,500.00 is necessary to cover these expenditures, to be funded by the prior year revenues of the Municipal Court Fund, which are available for this purpose. This amendment will cover the following additional expenditures incurred during the 2015-2016 fiscal year:
$7,400.00 (Account No. 19-104-4277, Software Incode) for the higher than anticipated costs associated with the software migration to Incode Version 10, which included one week of on-site training due to the complexities of the new system and conversion.
$5,100.00 (Account No. 19-104-4404, Building Maintenance) for the addition of a new doorway for improved access and security in the Court offices.
$2,800.00 (Account No. 19-104-4231, Equipment and Other Rentals) for the copier lease for Municipal Court that was added to the special revenue fund in Fiscal Year 2016-2017 and also to cover the maintenance fees related to the copier.
$1,200.00 (Account No. 19-104-4308, Small Tools & Minor Equipment) for the replacement of office chairs breaking down after ten years of use and becoming a safety hazard for office staff.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Include $16,500.00 in the Municipal Court Fund to be funded by the prior year revenues of the Municipal Court Fund, which are available for this purpose.

Approve the ordinance amending the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Budget for the Municipal Court Fund.
