Summary:
On the February 13, 2017 council meeting, the City approve the purchase of the services of Vaught Services for the emergency repair on 270 linear feet of 10” sewer force main on Center St. just south of Hwy 225. The existing cast iron sewer line, installed in 1970, had deteriorated and compromised the road. Vaught Services pipe burst the deteriorated pipe and replaced it with HDPE Pipe.
The total cost of the project was $135,507.75. To date the City has paid Vaught a total of $128,732.36 (see attached construction estimate certification form for details). As per agreement with the contractor the City of Deer Park held retainage of $6,775.39 to be released to the contractor upon council acceptance of the project. The project has now been completed and staff is recommending that council accept completion of the project and release of retainage to the contractor.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Funds for this project are drawn from the Public Works Contingency Fund # 40-500-4510.
