Acceptance of completion of the 2016 Thoroughfare Re-Striping Project.

Summary: 

 

Stripes & Stops was hired to perform the traffic striping for the 2016 Thoroughfare Re-Striping Project. This project consisted of applying traffic paint and reflective pavement markers on seven major thoroughfares in the City. The previous traffic marking on these thoroughfares consisted of non-reflective buttons and faded traffic paint.   Stripes & Stops was the lowest bidder for the project at $135,348.45. 

Following Stripes & Stops bid, on the December 6th council meeting, the City awarded them the bid on the 2016 Thoroughfare Re-Striping Project. The contract sum total for this project was $135,348.45.

The project has now been completed and came in $3,797.18 under budget. Staff is recommending that council approve payment to the contractor of $131,551.27.

 

Fiscal/Budgetary Impact: 

 

This project will be funded out of the Capital Improvements Fund 90-403-4406.

 

Recommended action

 

Staff is recommending that council accept the completion of this project and approve payment to the contractor.
