Summary:
City Council approved the City of Deer Park’s present Strategic Plan in 2014. The Plan contains five (5) Areas of Emphasis, one of which is Governance & Leadership. Strategy #2 of this Area of Emphasis calls for a review of the City Charter and a potential accompanying Charter Election. On Tuesday evening, staff would like to review this item with Council to gather your thoughts as to the process, timeliness, and items of focus in conducting a Charter Review. This then will be incorporated into the annual update of the entire Strategic Plan, which will be presented to Council during your Workshop on December 19, 2017.
