Summary:
As a show of appreciation for those who offered extraordinary assistance to the Deer Park area during and following Hurricane Harvey, the City of Deer Park created special Hurricane Harvey Challenge Coins. By definition, a Challenge Coin is an honorary token of recognition given to show appreciation and enhance morale when a membership faces or has overcome adversity. On Tuesday night, we will present these Challenge Coins to a number of volunteers who assisted with the City’s Shelter when it was activated following Hurricane Harvey. These individuals graciously served those who were downtrodden and removed from their homes in the immediate aftermath of Harvey. Additionally, Challenge Coins also will be presented to the City Council to thank each of you for all each of you did during Harvey.
