Summary:
In 2016, the City hired Langford Engineering to perform professional engineering services for the design of the replacement of the 10” force main at HCFCD Unit B112-00-00 Channel Crossing. In July 2017, the City awarded the construction bid to PMG, LLC in the amount of $51,463.00; however, the project was not started during Fiscal Year 2016-2017 as expected. It is necessary to amend the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Budget for the balance of $5,886.27 owed to Langford Engineering and the total of the bid award to PMB, LLC for the replacement of this 10” aerial crossing. Since it was expected that this project would be completed in the prior fiscal year, funds for the project were not included in the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Water & Sewer Fund Budget. An amendment in the amount of $58,000 to cover these outstanding costs plus a slight one percent addition for any unexpected change order.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Increase the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Water & Sewer Fund Budget by $58,000.00 to be funded by the contingency line item included in the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Water & Sewer Fund. Contingency funds are available for this purpose.
Recommended action
Approve the ordinance amending the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Water & Sewer Fund Budget.
