Consideration of and action on a schedule for FY 2018-2019 FCPEMSD Budget Hearings/Meeting(s).

Summary:
The current fiscal year began on October 1, 2017 and ends on September 30, 2018. The 2018-2019 fiscal year will begin on October 1, 2018. Attached is the proposed FY 2018-2019 Budget schedule. The schedule shows the budget meetings pertaining to the FCPEMSD Board as well as all other budget related workshops, meetings and hearings for the City Council, City staff, the CCPD Board, and the Deer Park Community Development Corporation (DPCDC). This schedule was designed to meet the all legal requirements relating to the budget. The key dates for the FCPEMSD are shown below:
• May 14, 2018 at 5:45 PM. FCPEMSD Meeting. The Fire Department presents the proposed FCPEMSD budget to the FCPEMSD Board. The Board schedules a public hearing on the proposed FCPEMSD budget.
• June 11, 2018 at 5:45 PM. Public hearing. The FCPEMSD Board conducts a public hearing on the proposed FCPEMSD budget.
• June 11, 2018 workshop after Public hearing. The FCPEMSD Board conducts a budget workshop after the public hearing on the proposed FCPEMSD budget.
• July 9, 2018 at 5:45 PM. FCPEMSD Meeting to adopt FCPEMSD budget. The budget is then submitted to the City Council.
The schedule shows that City Council will hold its public hearing on the FCPEMSD budget on August 21, 2018. Afterward, City Council either approves or rejects the FCPEMSD Budget. If the governing body rejects the budget submitted by the board, the governing body and the board shall meet and together amend and approve the budget before the beginning of the fiscal year.
