Summary:
The Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Water & Sewer Fund Budget for the remote water treatment site at Coy Drive includes a PAX Residual Control System, which is a chemical addition system that also takes readings of the chlorine in the water system. The chemicals used in this system need to be properly secured, and both the system and these chemicals need to be protected from the elements. The Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Water & Sewer Fund Budget for the Water Treatment Plant includes $150,000.00 for the PAX Residual Control System, but that amount is insufficient to also include the building needed to safeguard the system components and chemicals.
A budget amendment in the amount of $22,800.00 is proposed to cover the additional cost for a building to protect the PAX Residual Control System at the remote water treatment site at Coy Drive.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Increase the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Water & Sewer Fund Budget by $22,800.00 (Account 40-506-4902, Buildings) to be funded by the contingency line item included in the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Water & Sewer Fund. Contingency funds are available for this purpose.
