Authorization to purchase a new air handling unit (AHU) for the Deer Park Police Holding Facility.

Summary:
Money is placed in the budget every year for AHU repairs. The Holding Facility AHU has reached the point it is no longer feasible to repair. This unit is the original unit from October 2004. In November 2017 this unit began having problems. This unit operates on two compressors. When the problem initially began it was determined that one compressor was not working. Since November the unit has been operating on one compressor. This has been sufficient through the winter months but as spring approaches the unit will not be able to keep the facility cool. It was further discovered during the evaluation process, that the refrigerant being used in the system is now obsolete and will not be able to be purchased after 2020. We are requesting to purchase and install a new AHU for the Holding Facility at this time. We have been told it will take one month to deliver the needed parts and one week for City Personnel to install. This install will also include a controller upgrade performed by Digital Air Control.
