Consideration of and action on a resolution to seek and accept the Rifle-resistant Body Armor Grant with the Office of the Governor.

 

Body

The Deer Park Police Department requested City Council to apply and accept a grant through the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, Rifle-Resistant Body Armor Grant Program to secure 36 sets of Level III US Armor Rifle plates, carriers, and patches for front and rear totaling $23,410.  There is no match required by the City for the grant.  The Office of the Governor has notified us that this Resolution is required.

 

Summary: 

Approved the Resolution for the Rifle-resistant Body Armor Grant.

 

Fiscal/Budgetary Impact: 

The Rifle-resistant Body Armor Grant will require no in-kind or cash match from the City of Deer Park, and will consist of an outlay of $23,410.00 from the Office of the Governor to purchase rifle-resistant armor.

Approve Resolution.
