Summary: Dunham Engineering was hired to perform the design, engineering plans and specification as well as the inspection of the Rehabilitation of the P Street 1-Million Gallon Ground Storage Tank.
The proposal had three parts to it:
The Base Bid amount - which was for the labor and materials to rehab the interior and exterior of the tank as well as perform repairs on the tank.
An Alternate Bid amount - to furnish an alternate coating on the tank
An Additive Bid item - to furnish labor and material to pressure wash the tank’s interior surface
On October 24, 2018 we received 13 bids for this project. Dunham Engineering is recommending award to the 2nd lowest bidder, MK Painting, Inc. based on their bid of $335,000 with an Additive Bid of $4,000.

Per the attached Letter of Recommendation provided by Dunham Engineering, Cherokee Painting requested withdraw of their bid due to a mathematical error made on their part and not discovered until the day of the bid opening. Their letter requesting withdraw of their bid is attached to this agenda item.
The second lowest bidder is MK Painting, Inc. Their references have been checked and Dunham Engineering is recommending awarding the project to them for the cost of $339,000.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact: This project is being funded out of Series 2017-A Certificates of Obligation Bond (Fund 52)
