Summary:
Midtown Engineers has submitted a proposal for $64,084.00 to provide engineering services for the traffic signal coordination of East Blvd. This agreement involves a traffic study to improve north/south vehicular traffic flow along East Boulevard. The project will consist of: traffic counts, signal coordination, modeling utilizing SYNCHRO software, and implementing the revised timing plans for East Boulevard along the route of the (8) intersections below:
1. E. Thirteenth Street
2. E. X Street
3. E. San Augustine Street
4. E. P Street
5. E. Pasadena Boulevard
6. Aaron Street
7. Walmart / HEB Driveways
8. Spencer Highway
The consultant will provide recommendations that are required to implement the coordinated signals, which may include: detection, GPS antennas or updated controllers, roadway geometric improvements and/or detection areas. The results will be summarized in a technical memorandum with recommendations, collected traffic data and timing plans.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact: A total of $113,000 was budgeted for this project in account 10-401-4240

Staff recommends approval of the Engineering Services Proposal for Traffic Signal Coordination at East Blvd from 13th St. to Spencer Hwy in the “Total Not To Exceed Amount” of: $64,084.00
