Summary:
This grant application was submitted in 2009 for firefighting equipment. The acknowledgment letter (provided by Texas Forest Service) indicated that they would keep the application on file until such time that funding was available. The request (in 2009) was for various firefighting equipment, but substitutions were allowable from a pre-approved list of equipment. We have reviewed the list of pre-approved equipment and find that this is a fantastic opportunity to fund the Department’s transition to digital pagers that are used to alert our firefighters of an emergency call for service. The grant is for $20,000 with a 25% local match required.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
The local matching funds will come from the Department’s approved budget.
