Special presentation recognizing the Parks and Recreation Aquatics Division for receiving the 2018 Gold International Aquatic Safety Award from Jeff Ellis & Associated, Inc.

• aquatics receives three audits per summer
• all audit scores were scored as “exceeds”, which resulted in the Gold standard award. (Scoring possibilities are fail, pass, or exceeds)
• It takes approximately 7 staff and up to 7 hours to complete one audit.
• 5-7 individual lifeguards and one manager are audited while in action and under unannounced surveillance, then after auditor is revealed, five of those must perform a scenario rescue to show the understanding of skills and protocol and then lastly two guards must perform a first aid “rescue.”
