Consideration of and action on an ordinance to amend the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Budget for the Fire Marshal’s Office.

Summary:
The Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Budget included technology replacement costs in the budget for IT Services, and the Fire Marshal was scheduled for the replacement of a desktop. For more convenient portability and operational efficiency working in the field, the Fire Marshal elected to replace that desktop and a laptop with a single multi-function device. Because the new multi-function device represents a new technology request and not replacement technology, the purchase was charged to the Fire Marshal’s budget and not the IT Services budget resulting in a net variance for the Fire Marshal’s budget for the fiscal year of approximately $200.00. A budget amendment in the amount of $200.00 is requested to appropriate the additional funds necessary to fully fund the Fire Marshal’s Office expenditures for the fiscal year. This additional appropriation would be funded by the unassigned fund balance of the General Fund.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Add $200.00 to the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 budget for the Fire Marshal’s Office for Account No. 10-307-4308, Small Tools & Minor Equipment, to be funded by the unassigned fund balance of the General Fund, which is available for this purpose.

Approve the ordinance to amend the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Budget for the Fire Marshal’s Office.
