Discussion of issues relating to the Pony International Girls Softball Tournament.
Summary
Pony Girls Softball has decided to bring the 2019 International Girls Softball Tournament to Deer Park, Texas proposed for July 23-27, 2019 utilizing the newly renovated Girls Softball Complex and the Adult Softball Complex facilities. In addition, the tournament will fill many of our local hotels and provide exciting competitive softball to the community. Many collegiate coaches have been invited to scout the athletes that potentially will be from USA, Mexico, the Caribbean and possibly others. The decision to bring the tournament to Deer Park was based on the Pony Baseball Regional Tournaments and the tourism and field maintenance services that were provided to those tournaments. An ad-hoc committee has been created consisting of committee chair TJ Haight, Pony Baseball & Softball Representatives, City Staff, Deer Park Pony Baseball, Deer Park Girls Softball, the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce, local business representatives and DPISD.
