Summary:
The City of Deer Park employs high-quality EMS professionals that are capable of providing training for students during the course of their normal operations. Part of the EMT/Paramedic certification program is to ride along with an EMS service to both observe and to practice skills. This agreement would allow for students of Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) to ride along with the Deer Park Fire Department’s EMS units to gain this valuable training and knowledge. TEEX oversees training of students at facilities in and around the City of Deer Park, and trains students from our city and even our own Fire Department. Having such a partnership with TEEX will help to ensure new EMT’s and Paramedics receive quality training. There is no cost to participating in such an agreement. These students would ride along with an on-duty crew during the course of their normal response activities.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
There is no budget impact and no cost for this agreement.
