Summary:
The contractor has completed the final punch list and City staff is recommending acceptance of the project and release of retainage. The workmanship is acceptable and staff has taken possession of the building. Acceptance of the project by council will also start a one year maintenance period that is required in the contract documents.
Attached are five corrected Change Orders that are the result of a math and rounding error that occurred in Change Order Number 001, which in turn affected all the other change orders. The first change order was for the redesign and installation of drilled shafts to support the shelter foundation. Change Order Number 004 was for a credit due to not all the piers needing to be cased. Change Orders 002 and 003 were for changes the city made to the project. Change Order Number 005 is for a credit for the unused amount remaining in the Contingency Fund, which was initially $20,000. A pdf of the Change Proposal Request/Request for Proposal Log is attached for your information. Total project cost including change orders and a contingency credit under this contract is $2,383,230.65.
