Summary:
On Tuesday June 18, 2019, the City Council awarded the bid for a one-year supply of refuse bags to Houston Poly Bag. Subsequent to the award of bid, Houston Poly Bag discovered an error in their bid and notified the City that their bid did not meet the bid specifications. The City requests that the original award to Houston Poly Bag be “set aside” and that the City reject all bids and request new bids for a one-year supply of 18,000 rolls of refuse bags for 2 mil, 3 mil, and 4 mil gauge thickness options. While the City typically requests bids for multiple quantity options, at this time it has been determined that 18,000 rolls will suffice for the coming year, and it is recommended that the updated specifications are specific as to quantity with the only options the thickness of the bag.
