Consideration of and action on authorization to purchase five (5) 2020 Chevy Tahoe Special Service Vehicles (SSVs) and three (3) 2020 Chevy Tahoe Police Patrol Vehicles (PPVs), from Reliable Chevrolet through the Tarrant County Cooperative Purchasing Agreement and Sheriffs Association of Texas Agreement (CCPD Funded).

Summary:
This purchase will include five new 2020 Chevy Tahoe SSVs, which will be purchased for the Chief of Police, Assistant Chief of Police, Captain, Patrol Lieutenant, and Investigations Lieutenant. The purchase will also include three 2020 Chevy Tahoe PPVs, which will be added to the current patrol fleet. The Police Department budgeted for eight (8) 2020 Chevrolet Tahoes in the Crime Control Prevention District (CCPD). The Police Department now asks the City Council to approve the purchase of these eight vehicles. The purchase of the (5) 2020 Chevy Tahoe SSVs will be made through the Tarrant County Cooperative Purchasing Agreement, and the purchase of the three (3) 2020 Chevy Tahoe PPVs will be made through the Sheriffs Association of Texas Agreement from Reliable Chevrolet in Richardson, Texas.

Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
The CCPD Budget has $332,799.00 budgeted for these vehicles in account No. 82-300-49060 (Automobiles & Light Trucks). The bid is for the amount of $273,724.50, or $36,106.50 for each Tahoe SSV and $31,064 for each Tahoe PPV, included in the Crime Control and Prevention District (CCPD) FY19-20 Budget. This amount is $59,074.50 under budget.
Recommended action:
Approve the purchase of eight (8) 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe’s from Reliable Chevrolet through the Tarrant County Cooperative Purchasing Agreement and Sheriffs Association of Texas Agreement.
