Title

Presentation of the 2019 Texas Animal Control Association Kilpatrick Award.

Body

Summary:

Each year the Texas Animal Control Association (TACA) presents one Animal Control Officer with the Warren J. Kilpatrick Award for demonstrating outstanding work in the animal care and control profession.

In September 2019 Animal Control Officer/Supervisor Al Graces was nominated for the Kilpatrick Award for his hard work and dedication to animal care. Al has been an Animal Control Officer for ten years and worked for three different cities. After being promoted to supervisor, Al made it a personal mission to re-invent the Deer Park Animal Shelter, and construct a model shelter for other cities to follow. Since taking over, Al has turned the Deer Park Animal Shelter into adoption hub and raised the adoption rate by 89%.
