Summary:
The Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Budget for the City Secretary’s Office includes funding for Public Notices. During the fiscal year, an industrial real estate developer/investor approached the City to request a voluntary annexation. The process for a voluntary annexation includes publication of numerous and lengthy public notices. Due to the cost of these additional, unplanned public notices, a budget amendment is necessary. A budget amendment in the amount of $2,800.00 is requested to appropriate the additional funds necessary to fully fund the City Secretary’s Office for the fiscal year. This additional appropriation would be funded by the unassigned fund balance of the General Fund.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Add $2,800.00 to the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 budget for the City Secretary’s Office (Account No. 010-202-42010, Public Notices), to be funded by the unassigned fund balance of the General Fund, which is available for this purpose.
