Summary:
The Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Budget included health/life insurance costs for employees of the Finance Department, which includes Finance and the Warehouse. In each of these divisions, an employee made changes to their health coverage during the year. These changes resulted in a higher cost of health/life insurance due to the increase in premiums related to their changes. A budget amendment in the amount of $3,400.00 is requested to appropriate the additional funds necessary to fully fund the Finance division for the fiscal year. A budget amendment in the amount of $3,000.00 is requested to appropriate the additional funds necessary to fully fund the Warehouse division for the fiscal year. These additional appropriations, totaling $6,400.00, would be funded by the unassigned fund balance of the General Fund.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Add $3,400.00 to the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 budget for the Finance division (Account No. 010-201-41080, Health/Life Insurance) and $3,000.00 to the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 budget for the Warehouse division (Account No. 010-320-41080, Health/Life Insurance), with the total $6,400.00 to be funded by the unassigned fund balance of the General Fund, which is available for this purpose.
