Consideration of and action on the purchase of vehicle cameras and installation services from Safety Vision using HGAC contract #EF04-19.

Summary:
This purchase will include vehicle-mounted cameras in various emergency vehicles within the Fire Department, EMS, and Fire Marshal’s Office. Having comprehensive video camera systems in emergency vehicles helps to protect the city from undue liability. These cameras face both forward and to the rear of the vehicle, as well as toward the driver within the cab. This is not only useful in post-accident or post-incident investigations, but also extremely beneficial in a training environment.
These camera systems were included within the FY19-20 adopted budget, as follows: Fire - 12 vehicles; EMS - 6 vehicles; Fire Marshal - 1 vehicle.
The cost will be divided among the three departments as budgeted.

EMS - 010-312-4308 - $30,335.76
Fire Marshal - 010-313-4308 - $4,733.63
