Summary:
Fire is a serious public safety concern and homes are the locations where people are at greatest risk from fire. Home fires kill thousands of people in the United States each year. We encourage everyone to have a working smoke alarm and test it every month! This year’s fire prevention focus is on cooking safety, because approximately 40% of all home fires start in the kitchen.
