Summary:
The Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Budget included the purchase of a camera system for vehicles and equipment in the Fire Department, EMS, and Fire Marshal’s Office. While installation of the cameras was completed in September, because of several modifications during installation, some of which resulted in a credit adjustment, the vendor did not send a final corrected invoice until recently, which means the payment will be charged against the current Fiscal Year 2020-2021 Budget. A budget amendment in the amount of $87,200.00 is requested to fund the purchase of a camera system for vehicles and equipment in the Fire Department, EMS, and Fire Marshal’s Office to be funded by the unassigned fund balance of the General Fund. Note: the actual cost is less than the amount of $95,000.00 budgeted in the prior fiscal year.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Increase the Fiscal Year 2020-2021 General Fund Budget by the amount of $87,200.00 for the purchase of a camera system for vehicles and equipment in the Fire Department, EMS, and Fire Marshal’s Office, to be funded by the unassigned fund balance in the General Fund, which is available for this purpose. This amendment would be allocated among the three departments as follows (Account 010-xxx-43080, Small Tools & Minor Equipment):
311 - Fire $55,100
312 - EMS $27,500
313 - FMO $4,600
