Authorization to allow Deer Park High School signage on Center Street from May 22-26, 2021.

Summary:
Assistant Superintendent Steve Corry has made a request on behalf of DPISD for the City Council to allow about 1,000 small yard signs featuring individual photos of the DPHS Class of 2021 to be placed in the Center Street medians from May 22 - 26. This would be similar to what Council authorized last May for the Class of 2020. Signage is not allowed in City medians without City Council’s approval. Should Council grant this request, the High School’s JROTC program will put the signs out on Saturday, May 22nd and retrieve them on Tuesday, May 26th. This matter also will be discussed during Council Workshop on Tuesday night with officials from DPHS present to discuss their request.
