Summary:
The property at 518 E. Pasadena Blvd was purchased in 2019 as a potential site for a new Fire Station #2. The property contains a wood-frame residential structure on pier and beam construction which could potentially be moved. City Council authorized the solicitation of bids for the purchase of said house, which would be required to be moved by buyer at buyer’s expense (authorized 9-3-2019, AUT 19-041).
Earlier this year, the City published a Request for Proposals and received bids for the residential structure. One (1) bid was received, and it being from Cherry House Sales.
Cherry House Sales has proposed to purchase the residential structure for the sum of ten dollars ($10) plus additional services to be performed by buyer. Cherry’s proposal includes the requisite permitting process and compliance with all City Ordinances. Additionally, Cherry offers to supply all utility disconnects and to remove the freestanding garage, its foundation, and the driveway. These additional services are estimated (by Chery) to be valued at $2,500.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
There is no cost to the City of Deer Park.
