Awarding Request for Proposals for mowing services for the City of Deer Park.

Summary:
The City of Deer Park Parks and Recreation Department solicited request for proposals from vendors to complete mowing services on City maintained medians, entrances, and rights of ways around the City of Deer Park. The City received six (6) proposals for mowing and edging services on September 10th, 2021. Proposals received were from Special Touch Landscaping, Brushmasters II, LTD, Merriam Group LLC, Houston Grotech Services, Horticaree Landscape Management, Unicare Building Maintenance.
Based on the submitted proposals and scoring mechanism used to determine the best mowing services contract which are attached is Merriam Group, LLC. Selected by committee of staff members. This contract will include the below listed services. The contract is to begin October 1, 2021 and end on September 30, 2022. This contract has the option to renew up to 3 concurrent years.

* Medians on East Blvd.
* Stormwater drain inlets on East Blvd.

* Right-of-ways-along the side of East. Blvd.
* Stormwater drain inlets on East Blvd.

* Amy Street Spillway
* Cloudcroft cul-de-sac
* Oklahoma subdivision entrance

The Parks and Recreation Department has evaluated the proposals received. The areas to be serviced are very visible areas in the City and it is critical that the contractor possess the proper equipment, personnel, knowledge and experience to undertake this contract. The City utilized the request for proposals method for this solicitation.
After reviewing the six (6) proposals for mowing services from the request for proposal process; staff recommends that the mowing services be awarded to Merriam Group LLC for the amount of $66,822.00. Pleas...
