The City Council authorized replacement of the air conditioning unit(s) at Fire Station #3 using Texas Air Systems at the November 2, 2021 Council meeting based on the company’s price quote of $84,950. This quote was provided by the company in June and was used for budget preparation.

 

When City staff contacted the vendor to issue the purchase order on the project the company notified the City of a price increase from $84,950 to $97,050 to purchase and install these a/c units. The vendor stated that they were unable to preserve the pricing due to material costs escalation that occurred between June and November.

 

Fiscal/Budgetary Impact: 

FY2021-2022 approved item of $102,000

 

Recommended action

Staff recommends moving forward with replacing the two (2) a/c units at Fire Station #3
