Discussion of issues relating to authorizing the purchase/installation of security/hurricane film from ASAP Security Systems through TIPS(The Inter local Purchasing System) #200203.

Summary:

The security/hurricane film would be installed at the following locations:

Maxwell Senior Center

Courts Building

Library

Golf Course

Dow Soccer

Burgess Center

Kingsdale Center

Police Department and Fitness Room

Community Center

Community Center Fitness Room Entry

Avon Center

Jimmy Burke Activity Center Entry Doors

The film is Madico 8mil and/or Xpel 8mil with a four (4) sided Dow Corning 995 silicone structural adhesive attachment system.  It will provide security and hurricane protection in addition to reducing heat gain, lower energy costs and rejects 99% of UV rays.

The installation of the product will eliminate the need for personnel to install plywood on the window during significant weather events.

Fiscal/Budgetary Impact: 

Total cost for the above city facilities is $126,148.90

Funds are budgeted in Capital Improvement Fund 90-105-4903 for this purpose.

Recommended action

Staff recommends authorizing the purchase/installation of security/hurricane window protection on the City facilities identified above at the regular City Council meeting on January 18, 2022
