Summary:
The current term for members of the Board of Health expires on May 31, 2024 (Ordinance No. 4370). Chapter 5.10 of the Charter and Section 50-46 of the Code of Ordinances specifies membership for the Board of Health as a qualified physician licensed to practice medicine in the State, who shall serve as the Chairperson, the City Manager and Engineer.
Since Bill Pedersen has been the engineer of record on this committee in the past, he will need to be replaced since he is retiring from the city. Dilcia Jimenez, our new Director of Planning & Development/City Engineer will replace Mr. Pedersen on the Board of Health as the engineer.
Therefore, the ordinance being brought before City Council will re-appoint Dr. Donald Metz, Dr. Andrew Metz, and James Stokes, and adding Dilcia Jimenez as the City Engineer.
Due to the upcoming resignation of Mr. Pedersen, the new board term will start effective March 19, 2024 and end on May 31, 2026. The new ordinance rescinds the term ending date of May 31, 2024 on Ordinance No. 4370.
