Consideration of and action on an ordinance to amend the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Golf Course Lease Fund Budget to lease golf carts from EZGO for the Battleground Golf Course.

Summary:
The Fiscal Year 2023-2024 budget for the Golf Course Lease Fund includes $83,700.00 for the current golf cart lease with PNC. In June 2024, the current lease agreement expires. Staff recommends trading out the current fleet of carts for ones powered by lithium batteries when the new agreement commences. The new agreement will cost $9,520 monthly/$114,240.00 annually compared to the prior amount of $6,975 monthly/$83,700.00 annually to move to carts powered by lithium batteries. Parks and Recreation is requesting a budget amendment in the amount of $10,180.00 to cover the higher lease payments for June through September to be funded by a transfer of the unassigned fund balance of the General Fund to the Golf Course Lease Fund, which is available for this purpose.
The authorization to enter into the lease with PNC is on the agenda for the March 19th meeting for Council’s consideration.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Add $10,180.00 to the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 budget for the Golf Course Lease Fund (Account No. 084-450- 49080, Lease Purchase) to be funded by a transfer from the unassigned balance of the General Fund, which is available for this purpose.
